Community Informants

Community Informants are contributors who write and edit articles, create art and comics and and help other Star Trek fans, such as posting YouTube videos, running a fan site or Facebook page providing helpful answers, writing guides and articles, running events, etc. They are basically users who voluntarily dedicate time and energy towards their love of Star Trek and in doing so, improve the online community experience for others.

Section 31 Community Informants, Get a complementary @section31.org email address. Once accepted simply choose the email address you’d like to use – then enter your basic contact details. It’s that simple!

Informants are required to contribute towards the community to retain “active status”, this simply means contributing in one of the below ways once every two months. We understand Informants have busy lives, thats why we allow a 30 day grace period before marking you as “inactive”.

Qualifications

  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Must have a genuine interest in Star Trek television, films, games and products.
  • Contributor must behave and create content in compliance with our Terms of Service, End-User Legal Agreement.
  • Contributor’s content must have the potential to reach and influence the audience (in other words, Contributor must produce quality content).
  • Contributor must have a genuine interest in helping us build a healthy community around Section31.org by sharing constructive feedback.
  • Contributor must be actively involved in at least 1 community oriented channel such as Forums, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Twitch.

Do Community Informants represent Section31.org?

The Community Informants are trusted members of the community that Section 31 works with very closely with by sharing info with them as well as help them in their projects. Their opinions and stances remain totally their own and not those of Section 31.

How does Section 31 select those who become Community Informants?

Each case will be considered individually. However, a Community Informants should have at least 1 months of (continuous) community contribution and interaction with section31.org via different channels such as: forum, other fan site, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook etc. Additionally, Informants should have a good forum conduct. No medium to major offences are allowed.

Do Community Informants receive any payment from Section 31?

No. Those recognised as Community Informants work with Section 31 Agents to further fuel their hobby and audience, but there is no payment involved.

Can I recommend someone to become a Section 31 Community Informant?

Of course! However Informants will always be selected by Section 31 Agents.

What comes with being a Community Informant?

Within the community, users will automatically have a “Community Informants” rank placed next to their name on the forum in blue. Additionally,  Community Informants are also eligible to receive a complimentary @section31.org email address. Those recognised will occasionally receive: social media promotion on Section 31’s main Facebook/Twitter/website, early access to certain content, items to giveaway to their readers/viewers for selected contests and events.
